Praise for Somebody's Daughter
Jasmine Games’ Somebody's Daughter is a love letter, ode, and memorandum to the reader in support of truth and transparency. Games interlocks wild hairs as a means to get free or at least tie a bow around the world she experiences. Somebody's Daughter reflects and definitively proclaims history in a great way that gives into sinking and twirling with beautiful cascading layers. - Ebony Stewart, author of BloodFresh, Home.Girl.Hood., and Love Letters to Balled Fists.
I think the first line in her poem 'Hydrangeas in Bloom' pretty much sums up why I was won over. 'Do not forget the soil you grew in.' Powerful, lyrical work devoted to her truth. - Cornelius Eady, Sexton Prize for Poetry Judge and author of Victims of The Latest Dance Craze; The Gathering of My Name, nominated for a Pulitzer Prize; and Brutal Imagination, a National Book Award finalist.
